Happy birthday to us!

Our September Auction marked a year since we first forayed into the crazy world whisky auctioning, and we'd like to thank all those who placed bids in our most recent auction - it was our most successful auction yet! We noticed there was some slight issues with our website towards the end of the action, which we're fully investigating now to ensure there aren't any future interruptions in the bidding process.

The big highlight of the auction was probably the 1976 Brora, bottle number 61.1 from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society - this is regarded as the first time Brora was bottled as a single malt whisky and is a real collector's item. The bottle of 1800s James Denman Finest and Oldest Highland Whisky also generated a lot of interest, and considering the era in which it was bottled, it was picked up for a relative bargain at just £311. Macallan always performs well at auction (although sadly none of our bottles reached $1M like another Macallan which was auctioned recently) and our pick of the bunch in this auction was this beautiful Macallan 18yo distilled in 1967.

There were a few hidden gems to be found too - one luck bidder got their hands on this great bottle of whisky from the now-closed Dallas Dhu distillery for a little over £100, while an Aberlour 12yo and a Tamdhu 10yo, which were both bottled in the 1980s, each sold for just over £30. Regardless of your budget - there's something for everyone in our auctions!

Our next auction goes live on November 16th - if you're thinking of selling your bottles, get in touch here.
